LEVEL 02 · LESSON 05
Why one protocol does not fit every plant

See it
Tissue culture is highly context-dependent. Basal medium, plant growth regulators, light, vessel environment, stage, explant, and genotype can interact. That is why MyTCLab preserves recipe and evidence context instead of presenting a single ‘best’ formula for all plants.
Understand it
Protocol transfer should begin with similarity of biological context, not convenience.
Published alternatives can legitimately disagree because their materials and goals differ.
A local successful result should remain labeled as a local result.
Important boundary
Never silently average conflicting protocols into a new ‘canonical’ recipe.
Try it
Explain the concept in your own words, then identify what plant, explant, stage, units, source, or observation context would need to be preserved before applying it.
Lesson quiz
Apply it
Connect this lesson to an actual MyTCLab record: what fields would you need in order to know later exactly what happened and why?
