LEVEL 07 · LESSON 07
Rooting problems

See it
Poor rooting may reflect plant genotype, shoot quality, stage history, medium or regulator context, light, physical environment, or rooting strategy. In-vitro and ex-vitro rooting approaches can have different objectives and constraints.
Understand it
Evaluate shoot quality before blaming the rooting medium.
Record root initiation, number, morphology, and later survival where useful.
Compare with the protocol's actual rooting criteria.
Important boundary
Do not interpret more roots as automatically better if plantlet quality or acclimation is poor.
Try it
Explain the concept in your own words, then identify what plant, explant, stage, units, source, or observation context would need to be preserved before applying it.
Lesson quiz
Apply it
Connect this lesson to an actual MyTCLab record: what fields would you need in order to know later exactly what happened and why?
