MyTCLab use, one-time software access, scientific limits and the 14-day refund policy.

Effective October 17, 2026. These terms cover the MyTCLab website, Academy and software operated by MyBasic LLC, Marietta, Georgia, United States. Please read them before using the software or making a purchase.

Using MyTCLab

Use MyTCLab lawfully and responsibly. You must have authority to enter an agreement for any purchase or account you manage. An adult should manage family accounts and purchases. Do not compromise other accounts, misuse support forms, interfere with the service or upload content you do not have permission to use.

Free and purchased software

The Academy is free. The free workspace lets you save one plant or cultivar with its related batches, culture records, journal observations and shelf records. Equipment profiles and exports are available in the free workspace. Saving another plant or cultivar requires purchased access. Archived plant/cultivar work still counts toward that limit.

A one-time software purchase provides the purchased version's additional plant/cultivar access, advanced local tools and the account services described at checkout. It does not transfer copyright in the application or third-party materials. Your right to use the purchased local version is not a mandatory recurring software subscription. Future major upgrades or optional hosted services may have separately disclosed terms; a purchase is not a promise that every future service or feature will exist forever.

The advertised early-adopter price is US$149, with a regular one-time price of US$199. The available offer, currency, taxes and final amount must be shown at checkout. Purchases may be paused during launch checks. Do not treat a visible purchase button as confirmation that checkout is available.

14-day software refund policy

You may request a full refund of your MyTCLab software purchase within 14 calendar days after the original purchase. Use the private refund request form and include your purchase email and order or receipt identifier so we can find the transaction. Do not send your full card number or password. We review and process eligible requests; there is no automatic refund button or promise of instant bank processing.

Refunds are returned through the original payment method. Refunded software entitlements end when the refund is processed; an offline device may not learn about a revocation until it reconnects. Existing records remain readable/exportable rather than being deleted to force an upgrade. This policy does not reduce mandatory cancellation, refund or consumer rights under applicable law. It applies to MyTCLab software, not music or other purchases made on another website.

Your records and responsibility

You retain your rights in records, photos and other material you enter. You permit us and our service providers to process the information you submit or choose to synchronize to operate the service. Local-only use is not permission to publish your research. You are responsible for permission to upload material, account access, protecting shared devices and keeping exports/backups.

Local storage is not a guaranteed backup. Offline files, browser data and exports may be lost or changed by device or browser actions. Cloud synchronization requires supported account access and connectivity; keep important independent copies. Export and deletion controls do not erase other people's copies or all provider/back-up records instantly.

Science and measurement limits

MyTCLab provides educational material, calculations and recordkeeping. A working recipe, tool-range check or user's observation is not a guarantee of a validated protocol, calibration, sterility, plant health, freedom from disease or successful growth. Check plant/cultivar context, supplier instructions, units, stock concentrations and equipment documentation before acting. Equipment settings change measurement guidance, not a recipe's intended concentrations.

You remain responsible for safe handling, appropriate training, applicable rules and decisions in your lab or business. Educational content and user-entered interpretations must not be presented as independent certification or a guaranteed result.

Music and third-party services

The optional music control opens an embedded MyBusinessTree player. Listening, playback events, cookies, accounts, purchases and music licensing are governed by MyBusinessTree’s policies and terms. Buying MyTCLab does not buy music, and buying a track does not automatically authorize commercial reuse. Review the license for each purchase. Other third-party sources and providers have their own terms.

Availability, changes and legal rights

We work to maintain the service, but do not guarantee uninterrupted hosting, error-free operation or successful laboratory/business outcomes. Features may change, and features described as planned are not delivery promises. We may restrict access for abuse, security issues, refunded entitlements or violations of these terms. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain account restrictions and provide access to available exports.

To the extent applicable law permits, the service is provided as available without an additional guarantee of a particular scientific, commercial or technical outcome. Nothing here excludes obligations, warranties, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We will publish updated terms with an effective date and give additional notice when required.
