LEVEL 05 · LESSON 04

Acclimatization

See it

Acclimatization transitions plantlets from the protected, humid, sugar-supported in-vitro environment toward ex-vitro conditions. In-vitro plants can have altered anatomy and physiology, making the transition a genuine biological stage rather than simple repotting.

Understand it

Humidity, light, water relations, roots, leaves, and microbial exposure all change.
Gradual transition is commonly important.
Record survival and growth after transfer, not only the day of removal from culture.
Important boundary

A plantlet that survived removal from the vessel is not automatically fully acclimatized.

Try it

Explain the concept in your own words, then identify what plant, explant, stage, units, source, or observation context would need to be preserved before applying it.
