LEVEL 05 · LESSON 03
Rooting
See it
Rooting prepares suitable shoots or plantlets for root development where the propagation system requires it. Some protocols root in vitro; others use ex-vitro rooting or combine rooting with acclimatization.
Understand it
Rooting strategy is plant- and protocol-dependent.
Root number alone is not the only quality indicator.
Record whether rooting occurred in vitro or ex vitro.
Important boundary
Do not assume every micropropagation system requires a separate in-vitro rooting stage.
Try it
Explain the concept in your own words, then identify what plant, explant, stage, units, source, or observation context would need to be preserved before applying it.
Lesson quiz
Apply it
Connect this lesson to an actual MyTCLab record: what fields would you need in order to know later exactly what happened and why?
