LEVEL 04 · LESSON 07
Plant growth regulators overview
See it
Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are compounds used in culture to influence developmental responses. Auxins and cytokinins are especially important in many organogenesis and micropropagation systems, but gibberellins, abscisic acid-related treatments, ethylene-related effects, and other regulators can also matter.
Understand it
PGR effect depends on identity, concentration, tissue, genotype, and stage.
Endogenous plant hormones interact with applied regulators.
More regulator is not automatically better.
Important boundary
Avoid presenting a PGR concentration without plant/stage/source context.
Try it
Explain the concept in your own words, then identify what plant, explant, stage, units, source, or observation context would need to be preserved before applying it.
